NATIONAL SAFETY APPAREL ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF ARC RESISTANT RAINWEAR.

August, 2009 Cleveland, Ohio: National Safety Apparel, a leading manufacturer and innovator of safety apparel, announced the launch of our new line of Arc Resistant Rainwear. National Safety Apparel has manufactured several new rainwear product lines that will address the specific needs and hazards of the electric utility industry. The NSA Rain Guard product line provides waterproof protection for workers exposed to traffic and electrical arc hazards.

Currently, NSA has three product lines available and is in the process of developing others. The first product line available is the economy style. The economy style, called Arc Essential, is your entry level rainwear that protects the wearer from the elements, potential arc hazards and open flames. Arc Essential is constructed from a 9.5 oz. FR Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) moisture barrier with a Nomex®/Kelvar® E89 fabric.

If you are looking for rainwear that offers HRC 2 protection with more features, then Arc H₂0 is a perfect choice. The Arc H₂0 is a premium product that is constructed with a 10 oz. FR Polyurethane (PU) moisture barrier with a lightweight woven FR cotton weft knit fabric. Both Arc Essential and Arc H₂0 meet ANSI 107 and are available with Class 2 and Class 3 striping.

The third product line, Arc Extreme, consists of a unique multi-layered tri-laminate material offering arc protection and breathability. Nomex® inner layers of fabric provide protection against momentary electrical arcs and open flames. The PTFE micro-porous moisture barrier is windproof, waterproof, and breathable. The combined layers create an arc protective and breathable system that reduces worker heat stress.  Inquire about the colors available.
